Harry Kane Opens Up About Golf Round With Donald Trump and David Beckham’s Support Ahead of World Cup clash with Norway

England captain Harry Kane has reflected on what he described as a “surreal” experience after playing a round of golf with United States President Donald Trump, while also highlighting the encouragement the national team continues to receive from England legend David Beckham.

Kane spoke about the memorable encounter after Trump publicly congratulated him for helping England defeat Mexico and reach the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals.

Reacting to Kane’s performance, Trump wrote on social media: “Harry Kane of England is a GREAT player!!”

Speaking about their golf outing, Kane explained that the invitation came while he was in Palm Beach around 18 months ago.

“I played alright to be honest. We played about 18 months ago. He invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach,” Kane said.

He admitted that receiving an invitation from the President of the United States made the occasion unforgettable.

“When the President invites you somewhere, it’s a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him.”

Kane also praised Trump’s golfing ability, adding that the President impressed him on the course.

“His golf’s pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as well as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure. A unique experience, but just grateful that he invited me down to play.”

Away from golf, Kane discussed England’s preparations for the quarter-final against Norway, revealing that the squad completed its final training session at Inter Miami’s facilities, built by former England captain David Beckham.

According to Kane, Beckham remains closely connected to the national team and regularly checks in after matches.

“He just wished us luck. After most games, he messages me and we stay in touch.”

The Bayern Munich striker said Beckham’s passion for representing England continues to inspire the current generation.

“He’s obviously a big England fan. We know how much it meant for him to play for England and be captain.”

Kane also thanked Beckham for allowing England to use Inter Miami’s training base during their preparations.

“He was there to support us. We were obviously using his home, the home he’s built, so we appreciate him doing that for us.”

He added that both he and his teammates valued the opportunity to spend time with one of England’s greatest football icons.

“Ultimately, it was good to catch up with him and for the other lads to have a chat with him. He is an English legend, he was wishing us well and hopefully we can do him proud tomorrow.” Kane said.

Kane’s comments offered a glimpse into two unique relationships beyond the football pitch, an unexpected golfing experience with President Donald Trump and the continued encouragement of David Beckham as England pursue another deep run at the FIFA World Cup.
