Chelsea are prepared to stand firm over Pedro Neto’s valuation as interest in the Portuguese winger continues to gather pace during the summer transfer window. Despite attracting attention from some of England’s biggest clubs, the Blues have no intention of allowing the former Wolves star to leave for anything below what they believe reflects his current market value.
The 26-year-old joined Chelsea from Wolves in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth £54 million. Since then, the transfer market for elite wide attackers has changed dramatically, with clubs now placing enormous price tags on players in similar positions.
Manchester City and Liverpool have both been linked with Neto as they evaluate options to strengthen their attacking departments.
Liverpool are rebuilding their forward line following Mohamed Salah’s departure and are searching for dynamic wingers capable of making an immediate impact. Neto’s Premier League experience and attacking versatility make him an attractive candidate.

Although they do not expect offers to reach those extraordinary figures, Chelsea are determined to demand a fee comfortably above the £54 million they originally invested.

Rather than rushing into a sale, Chelsea see the current market as an opportunity to maximize the value of one of their most important attacking assets. Several clubs from Saudi Arabia are also monitoring Neto’s situation, potentially creating additional competition if Chelsea decide to entertain offers later in the window.
For now, however, there is no indication that the London club are willing to negotiate unless a bid matches their expectations.
Maresca Previously Praised Neto’s Professionalism. Enzo Maresca spoke highly of Neto during his time at Chelsea, highlighting both his talent and work ethic.
“He’s top, he’s very humble and working hard,” he said.
The manager also emphasized the importance of maintaining elite standards throughout the Premier League season.
“He’s a very important player for us, and we are very happy with Pedro. He’s exactly the same as other players, he needs to be always 100 per cent, because in the moment that you drop a little bit, mentally or physically, in this league, it’s complicated.”
Those comments underlined why several elite clubs continue to view Neto as a player capable of strengthening a title-challenging squad.
Neto is currently enjoying a holiday after representing Portugal at the World Cup, but speculation surrounding his future continues to intensify.
Chelsea remain under no pressure to sell and appear determined to keep hold of the winger unless a truly compelling offer arrives.
